Hugo and his father, a magician, discover a strange beast in a passageway of their tower. The beast is blackened and crumbles to ash. It has crawled in, desperate and alone, from another dangerous world. If Hugo climbs down a secret spiral staircase, he just might find this world for himself...

 

 This other world is Earth. It is solid here and the weather is changing. There are riots on the streets and dark spirits are gathering. And Hugo has a part to play. He just needs to find his way from the Greenwich Observatory and cope with a new solid body in a strange new world...
